St Michaels near Imperial Wharf was run as youth centre for many years until 2015 when it became clear that radical intervention was needed in order to keep the centre financially afloat. WP was drafted in at this point to put together a mixed use scheme that largely saw the original building being demolished, incorporating a new youth centre with residential flats above, with the latter providing a permanent income to support the running of the centre below. Planning was gained for a 6 flat scheme but ultimately the owners decided to sell and relocate.

At this point WP made a successful bid to buy the site from the existing owners and ultimately gained a further permission for nine flats with a commercial unit on the ground floor, whilst crucially seeking to retain as much of the building as possible thereby greatly reducing the  carbon impact of the project.
