Gwynne Road Planning Permission

We are extremely proud to have been given planning for this 14 storey tower! It will provide the area with a new landmark and it's quite a milestone in the development of our business. The £10 million scheme will be the area’s tallest tower and will sit within a large green public space.

Featured on the Architects Journal, the proposed scheme sits in an area with strong potential for regeneration through the redevelopment of a number of sites which could together support a new community big enough to become a thriving neighbourhood. The site is opposite a downtrodden green area that is not currently considered a park by the Council. The client’s brief was to design a landmark building at the head of this ‘park’ area, which would become a community focus for the green space in front of it.

We proposed a small mixed use tower with a strong personality. Carefully designed to respond to the surrounding buildings and the green space in front, the northern and southern elevations, facing the parks to the front and rear, will be predominantly glazed. By making the entrance and ground floor double height and creating a small paved square outside the building’s entrance, the design creates an open, welcoming building with strong connections to the adjacent green areas.
